Local Radio Airplay

I received a very pleasant email today informing me that my tune “Hah” (which is on my forthcoming EP) was played on my local BBC radio station on Saturday night.

Head to bbc.co.uk/introducing, upload your music and you could have your tracks broadcast on BBC RadioIf you’ve not tuned in to BBC Coventry & Warwickshire Introducing before, it’s well worth a listen – lots of excellent local talent on there, all of it supremely listenable and produced. The best thing is that all of it is from local unsigned artists – independents like myself. The show is hosted by Brody Swain, who is a thoroughly nice chap and genuinely into the music that he selects and plays, ably assisted by Producer Hannah. The show is on every Saturday night from 8 until 10pm, and hangs around on the BBC iPlayer for 4 weeks afterwards. I once caught the show entirely by accident while I was out in the car, not expecting to be played on that particular week; I cannot describe the feeling of suddenly hearing your own music coming from your FM radio, it’s very, very special. I’ve had the good fortune to have been played on the show over a dozen times in the last year, which is great exposure for someone like me.

If you fancy a listen, “Hah” is the penultimate track on Saturday’s show, and you can hear it on the BBC iPlayer here (about 1hr 49mins in).

BBC Introducing is a national programme that connects new music artists with their local & national shows – if you’ve got music, get it heard!
